Baubles and Babble

December 25, 2009

I’m a sucker for a good accessory, especially necklaces.  In many ways they are my signature, and I don’t quite feel like myself with a bare neck.   So the abundance of brilliant necklace options, due to the continued  popularity of statement necklaces, makes me very happy.  Well it should make me very happy. But truth be told, it really poses quite a conundrum.  Ideally, the best part of accessories are the ease with which they make the traditional transcendent.  To translate that from frou frou fashion speak — accessorizing is easy and cheap.  And unfortunately most statement necklaces,  well at least the ones that don’t look like plastic junk from the bubble gum machine, aren’t cheap.

I had pretty much given up my quest for a reasonably priced option when I stumbled upon this little beauty in JCPenney.

It’s substantial without being heavy, and features a richly  intricate mix of fabric and texture.  And of course the best part, it’s only $19.99,and since it’s JCPenney there’s almost always a coupon or code floating around to knock a few extra dollars off the price.

Long Term Investment…

Momentary Indulgence…

Outfit Ideas…
